Founded in 2003, OPEN CINEMA is dedicated to the innovative use of cinema as a tool for community engagement. Screenings of documentaries in café-style venues are followed by open forum discussion with invited guests. In-person screening events are amplified using virtual engagement and streaming tools, creating a ‘hybrid cinema’ experience to Connect the Docs! OPEN CINEMA is a program of MediaNet in Victoria, BC.
